Vasco Robotics brings together expertise in robotics, navigation, software engineering and security. With roots in academic research, we are building software foundations for autonomous systems that can evolve across platforms and applications.

Why we came together

We share a conviction: progress in autonomous robotics depends as much on how software is built as on what an individual robot can do. Perception, navigation and decision-making need to work together, and the software connecting them needs to remain understandable, testable and adaptable.

Our expertise meets at that intersection. By bringing it together, we aim to take autonomy beyond individual research projects and into practical use.

Lean hardware, structured autonomy

We are developing modular, hardware-agnostic autonomy software, starting with UAVs. Our approach pairs a lean onboard hardware setup with software that brings perception, navigation and decision-making together. The aim is to deliver capable autonomy without relying on increasingly complex hardware configurations.

Behaviour trees structure our mission logic. We design them to remain amenable to formal verification as behaviours are combined and extended, keeping the rules governing mission execution explicit. Modularity and clear interfaces allow individual capabilities to be developed, tested and improved independently. We treat verifiability as an architectural requirement from the outset.

Our vision

Our vision is to make advanced autonomy easier to adapt to different aircraft and missions, without rebuilding the software from the ground up each time. The autonomy and navigation technology developed within the University of Klagenfurt’s HERMES team provides the technical foundation for this work.
